서강대 유석진 교수님의 이코노미스트관련 특강 (이코노미스트는...) 이코노미스트는 영국의 금융자본 그 중에서도 'City'의 입장을 대변하고 있습니다. 그러나자본의 입장만 대변하면 설득력을 가지기 어려우니까 유럽복지국가나 유럽의 시회통합을 어느 정도 지지하는 입장을 취해 대중적인 설득력을 확보하려고 하고 있습니다. 이코노미스트의 특징 중 하나는 기명기사를 넣지 않는다는 것입니다. 기명기사를 넣을 때가 있는데 그때는 기자가 퇴임하면서 마지막으로 기사를 쓸 때입니다. 따라서 퇴임기사를 보고 그 기자가 그 동안 어떤 기사를 썼나 미루어 짐작해 볼 수 있을 겁니다. 이코노미스트는 노골적으로 사실을 왜곡하지는 않습니다. 또한 자신들의 주장을 바꿀 때는 반드시 근거를 제시합니다.
